My favorite television show is JEOPARDY.  I think it keeps my mind active and it shows me how much – even at age 80 – I don’t know.

One advantage we have over the article writer and authorities in THE BLADE article is the fact that where the most essential questions in this temporal life are concerned, we know where to seek the answers – not in the teachings of Islam and other non-Christian faiths – not in the blueprints of the tower of babel –not in politically correct agendas – not even in the knowledge and achievement for which humanity takes credit.  The answers are in The Word of God - as God – with Whom all things are possible - reveals them to us incarnately in The Lord of The Holy Christian Church as the vulnerable flesh and blood Christ and inerrantly in The Truth God gives us in The Holy Bible.

Our one true God is so magnificent and beyond the abilities of our human understanding that on our own we cannot hope to definitively define or describe God. We only know God through what God has chosen to reveal to us.  We can in no way define God in terms we chose to apply to God – but one thing that sets the one true God apart from all the world’s pretenders is that God is so far beyond our understanding that The One True God comes to us in three persons – The Holy Trinity – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

In the beginning God – with Whom all things are possible - created the heavens and the earth.  Then as God The Creator’s crowning achievement, God created man in His Own Image, in The Image of God God created him; male and female God created them – created humanity to recognize God and to live in an eternal relationship with our Creator. With the free will God gave us to enable us to love and believe, the people challenged God and shattered the relationship God created us to have.  It is a relationship only God could restore. Here too, unlike Allah and other humanly conceived gods, the one True God loves us and actively seeks temporal and eternal relationship with us.  Islam makes no such claim for Allah.

Our only hope of redemption lies in God proving us with a Sacrifice for our sins and a Model of the godly life that God has created for us to live now and eternally. To provide the Sacrifice and the Model only God - with Whom all things are possible – could, God came among us as the vulnerable flesh and blood Christ – came among us as true God, begotten of The Father from eternity and also true man, born of the virgin Mary.  This is a side of God that no Moslem or other non-Christian can understand – but which God has revealed of Himself.

I was born a man – I will die a man – I am defined and live in the limitations of being a man. God is God – nothing less – eternally God.  After the crucifixion and Resurrection, true God and true man Jesus Christ made us heirs in His Father’s Kingdom – calling us to address God as our Father Who art in heaven.  No human can place limitations on God where no limitations exist.  Cherish what the true God has done as the true man, born of the virgin Mary.  It is something only God could do – and something which, according to God’s Plan had to be done when God came among us as the vulnerable flesh and blood Christ.

With God all things are possible and never subject to truly fallible human judgment. To strengthen our faith and relationship with God, Jesus promised and sent The Holy Spirit.  As we join Martin Luther  in confessing “I believe that I cannot by my own reason or strength believe in Jesus Christ, my Lord, or come to Him; but The Holy Spirit has called me by The Gospel, enlightened me with His gifts, sanctified and kept me in the one true Faith.  In the same way He calls, gathers, and sanctifies the whole Christian Church on earth and keeps it with Jesus Christ in the one true Faith.”

When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior now and eternally – we become eternal members of God’s Kingdom.  We have God’s Own Promise that whoever believes in The Holy Trinity with Whom all things are possible and and is baptized in The Name of The Father and of The Son and of The Holy Spirit  will be saved,

Tragically whoever does not believe will be condemned because they choose to deny the path God has revealed that leads to our Salvation.

How blessed are we that whoever believes and is baptized will be saved.  We have God’s Promise on that incarnately in the vulnerable flesh and blood Christ and inerrantly in The Truth God gives us in The Holy Bible. Thank God with Whom all things are possible.
